Day 3 Cannon Beach
Ecola State Park
Our first stop was Ecola State Park. The overlook near the parking lot provides a great ocean view.
We paid the parking fee $7 at the kiosk on the parking lot. One mistake I made was throwing away the parking receipt after we left the park. We did not know that the receipt was good for a week and several other state parks. So keep your parking receipt.
Canon Beach
We had lunch at Canon Beach, and then went to the beach. It was very crowded everywhere and very hard to find parking. We walked around on the beach the famous Haystack Rock and the Needles.
Astoria
We drove to Astoria to check in at our hotel Astoria Riverwalk Inn. There was quite some traffic on the way. The hotel is right at the marina, so the views were fantastic, especially sunset time. We saw many animals like birds and a family of raccoons. The location was perfect too: it was a short walk to the Astoria bridge and many restaurants. The hotel was quiet, good for a night of rest. We stayed here for one night for $209.04.
We walked to the Mexican restaurant El Tapatio Astoria for dinner. The food was delicious. I had Camarones a la Diabla and it was super spicy. I also had the margarita flight, very nice too.
